The Avila Beach Hotel is characterized by its excellent service in a stylish and contemporary setting. Our diverse Food & Beverage Department includes Conferences & Banqueting (6 meeting locations), The Pen Restaurant & Terrace, Blues Restaurant, Schooner Bar, The Pool Bar and Special Events. We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable new colleague to join our team:

SOUS CHEF (FULL TIME)

  • Manage daily kitchen activities
  • Leads kitchen team
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Is responsible for the daily culinary operations of the Restaurants
  • Assist Executive Chef with on-boarding, training, scheduling, briefing (daily), leading and evaluating
    the culinary team and the stewarding team
  • Reports to the Executive Chef and works closely with the Restaurant & Bar Supervisors
  • Provides meal quality and consistency by following designated recipes
  • Create and test recipes and techniques for food preparation to ensure high quality
  • Experienced with high-volume cooking, has knowledge of technique and products used in hotel
    restaurants
  • Being pro-active, flexible and well organized
  • Be able to plan day to day events
  • Able to work morning and evening shifts, weekends, holidays and flexible hours
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar position is required
  • Able to communicate in Dutch and English, Papiamentu is a plus
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects +/- 15kg
